HIV Infection Process

HIV infection process lasts for several years from the beginning of the infection. It does not occur at once. HIV infection develops in a certain way. The process includes the stages that lead a person to AIDS. However, it is essential to know that what HIV is. HIV is described as Human Deficiency Syndrome. It is a virus that enters in the body by various ways. The immune system is made up of CD4 cells. The major function of these cells is to protect the body from the various infections and diseases. The HIV enters in the body and hides in CD4 cells. It grows slowly but while doing so it starts to replicate itself.

The immune system can not recognize its existence. It continues the process of being replicated till it becomes successful in damaging the whole immune system. Eventually, HIV wins the battle with CD4 cells. It takes over the CD4 cells and badly damages the immune system. As a result of this opportunistic infections lead to attack the immune system. This is the final stage of infection where the immune system can not resist any opportunistic infections as it has been weakened severely by HIV. Every system has been damaged by the virus. The final stage comes that is called as AIDS.
